Looking Out My Back Window #22

Looks nice out there today. Sunny. 32 degrees… I’m never really sure what I’m going to write about each week. I post the photo and just start writing. From there, it’s kind of in God’s hands. I just hope it’s something worth reading, that maybe resonates with you. And it almost always seems to work out pretty good. I think as my week progresses I see or hear things and think “that might be good to write about”, but I never make it a point to write anything down or “save it for later”, other than a mental note. Sometimes that creates pressure for me. I start thinking, you know – maybe I should plan these out a bit more, I could make them even better. Would it? I’m not sure it would, I guess it could, but part of these writings that does make them connect with so many of you is the spontaneity. It’s just trying to get in the flow, and letting whatever happens happen. And when I can let that happen without allowing my mind to get worried or anxious, it goes pretty well. It’s very similar to playing music, and letting things just flow rather than overthinking them. When you can get in that “zone”, sometimes magic occurs. Life can be like that. I’ve had times where everything I’m doing seems to work out right, the right people show up at the right time, money flows in freely, I wake up excited and happy to greet the day. I’ve had times when I was so down I wondered if I even wanted to live. I’ve lived long enough now to know I created both scenarios with my own thoughts about who I was and what I was capable of. So many times our main obstacle in life is ourselves. Maybe – just maybe, if we could get out of our own way and get in touch with the part of us that is timeless, that will live on long after our bodies have passed, and allow that part of us to guide us, magic will occur. You can’t run away from yourself. You can change your thoughts about who you are and what you’re capable of. And, once you have a vision you move forward knowing that with God, all things are possible. Who’s the better project manager here? You or God? Don’t let your fast mind interfere with the process of the slow mind that watches. Conscious contact with God is important. Once you have a feel for what God’s will is for you, let Him guide you. Listen to your heart. “There is no way to happiness, happiness is the way” – Thich Nhat Hanh
