Thinking a lot about the ebb and flow of life today… anyone in sales would probably be familiar with this… sales usually don’t just flow in at the same speed always, they come in bunches. It’s like you have periods where you’re just “in the groove” and nothing can go wrong followed by periods where nothing is happening and the whole thing seems to be falling apart, which leads into another period where seemingly nothing can go wrong and as the old saying goes it’s “chicken for dinner one night, feathers the next”… life in general seems like that to me. I have periods where I’m extremely busy, organized and focused followed by periods where I just don’t want to do anything. I mean nothing, just sleep and watch tv. Some of the ups and downs I have are probably due to my naturally obsessive nature, I’ll get super focused and driven to hit a goal and drive myself to the brink then find that I need to back off and recharge. Lately, I’ve been recharging. Took the last TWO weekends and didn’t work on Saturday. Wow, so that’s what that feels like. I don’t think I’ve taken back to back Saturday’s off in at least ten years. The older I get, the faster time moves and the more I start to realize I might not get to everything in the time I have. So, taking time to relax and recharge is important. Getting in touch with what’s really meaningful in your life and making sure you’re doing those things is also critical. And listening to your heart… can be easier said then done if you haven’t tried it in a while. Take some time to look within today. Then look at what you’re doing on a daily basis… are you doing anything that’s meaningful to you? Sometimes life moves us away from our hearts, Gods will, our potential. Get it back. You can’t make time to do the things you love, the things that help lead a life of significance, without first knowing what that is for you. I wish you all the best on your journey, wherever life finds you today. Along the way, let’s do what we can to be civil to each other. The world can always use more love and compassion. There are no coincidences 🙂
